Bio
Stephen Morris is a clinical pharmacist at Leeds Children’s Hospital, part of the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. His main goal is to help improve the experience of families who use medicines, in order to improve their health outcomes and minimise any harm from medicines use (either directly and indirectly).
Stephen's interests include medicines use in children, patient safety, patient experience and qualitative methods. In 2018, he was awarded a National Institute for Health Research pre-doctoral fellowship which he used to complete a PG Cert in Applied Health Research and to conduct patient/public engagement work about medication safety. In 2019, he successfully gained funding from Leeds Cares and the NIHR Yorkshire and Humber Research Design Service to conduct focus groups on the experiences of families who use prescribed medicines at home.
His current projects are:
- Minimising harm to infants from medicines after hospital discharge (MINI-MEDS): A qualitative study of the experiences of medications errors involving an infant by families after hospital discharge
Developing funding proposal for NIHR PhD Fellowship
- Medicines Optimisation in Paediatric Patients (MOPPet): A qualitative human factors study on the causes of Drug Related Problems in hospitalised children.
