Bio
Ala’a Al-Habashna received the M.Eng. degree from the Memorial University of Newfoundland, in 2010, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from Carleton University, Ottawa, ON, Canada, in 2018. He is currently an Adjunct Research Professor with Carleton University. He is also a Senior Researcher with Statistics Canada, Ottawa. His current research interests include 5G wireless networks, machine learning, computer vision, the IoT applications, localization, multimedia communication over wireless networks, signal detection and classification, cognitive radio systems, and discrete-event modeling and simulation. He has won multiple awards, including excellence and best-paper awards. He was a reviewer for many conferences and journals and a technical program committee member of multiple conferences. He has been the Co-Chair of the Communications and Networking Simulation (CNS) track of the Annual Modeling and Simulation Conference.
