个人简介
My expertise lies in design and evaluation of complex molecular biology methods such as dPCR and NGS complete with underlying metrological aspects that influence measurement uncertainty. Soon after my PhD studies, which I did in the field of genetically modified organisms, I joined project AntiMicroResist (a European Metrology Programme for Innovation and Research –EMPIR project), where I was involved in method development for molecular detection of ganciclovir resistance in human cytomegalovirus, and from then on metrology for support of nucleic acid measurements has been the central point of my studies.
Currently, I’m working on two metrological projects BACTO-MET (http://projects.nib.si/bactomet/) and SEPTIMET (https://www.lgcgroup.com/our-programmes/empir-septimet/). First, is a nationally founded project, focuses on the development of metrologically sound methodological procedures for detection and quantification of Gram-negative bacteria causing nosocomial respiratory tract infection and second, an EMPIR project, focusing on faster, more accurate sepsis diagnosis for improved patient survival rates.
