Ali Imran (Senior Member, IEEE) is the Founding Director of AI4Networks Research Center (http://www.ai4networks.com) with the University of Oklahoma, where he is leading several multinational and industry lead projects on AI for wireless networks. He is also the Co-Founder of a start-up AISON (http://www.aison.co). From 2007 to 2011, he worked in the Institute of Communications Systems (5GIC), University of Surrey, U.K. In that position, where he contributed to a number of pan-European and international research projects while working in close collaboration with key industrial players. He also worked for three years as a Research Scientist with QMIC, Qatar. His research on AI-enabled wireless networks has played seminal role in this emerging area and has been supported by $4 million in nationally and internationally competitive research funding and recognized by several prestigious awards, such as the IEEE Green ICT YP Award 2017, the VPR Outstanding International Impact Award at the University of Oklahoma in 2017, and the Best Paper Award at IEEE CAMAD 2013. He has published over 100 refereed journals and conference papers and has several patents granted and pending on this topic. In 2018, he has been named William H. Barkow Presidential Professor with the University of Oklahoma. He is routinely invited to serve as an Advisor to key stakeholder in cellular network eco-system and as a Speaker and a Panelist on international industrial fora and academic conferences on this topic. He is an Associate Fellow of Higher Education Academy (AFHEA), U.K.; the President of ComSoc Tulsa Chapter; a Member of Advisory Board for Special Technical Community on Big Data in the IEEE Computer Society, and a Board Member of ITERA.
