his work was focused on the development and application of machine learning and physical models to detect, analyse, and predict mining, oil&gas, and carbon sequestration induced earthquakes. He has also worked as a consulting seismologist on greenfield geothermal projects, as well as at Total S.A. in geophysics.
His research interests include micro-earthquake monitoring and fracture imaging in rocks at the field scale of mining, civil, and energy applications, as well as using laboratory-scaled models. The goal is to develop data-driven approaches to understand and more accurately predict the onset of failure modes in rock mechanics problems such as rock bursts, slope stability and fluid-induced fault slip. His teaching interests are rock mechanics, engineering geology, and data science for geotechnical engineers.
