I hold a doctorate in Cellular and Developmental Biology and would now like with a Lab where my research and analysis skills will be used to the maximum. For the successive 4 years at doctorate, I have obtained a Post-Doc fellowship (Assegno di Ricerca, University of Palermo), under the direction of Prof. Rainer Barbieri (Professor of Genetics, University of Palermo) during which I have studied the ribosomal genes at genomic and transcriptomic levels. Unfortunately, my tutor died prematurely, and I continued my research (2011-2012) with Dr. Fabio Caradonna (researcher, genetist, University of Palermo). My special interest resided in to determine methylation analysis of specific genes that have produced different papers (where in three, I am correspondent author). I have an acumen in troubleshooting, and I can determine corrective actions which are essential for every experimental program as documented by my papers (I have edited advanced molecular techniques that have produced publications). I have been undertaken different collaborations during which I have used different high level techniques of Genetics, Cellular and Molecular Biology, that have produced different publications as indicated in my curriculum. During this period, I have also worked as contract professor and in particular, have been professor of biology, genetics, molecular genetics, and genetic engineering (University of Palermo).
From January 2013 to December 2015, I had a P.O.N. fellowship (2 years) at the IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli. In these two years, I have working in the analysis of cells at structural and ultra structural level, using SEM, TEM and confocal microscope. I have having also a collaboration with researchers of DIBIMEF department, in the engineering of Exosomes and in its use as drug delivery.
From january 2015 to may 2015, I had a P.O.N. fellowship. I have worked in the realization and analysis and of murine models of cardiovascular diseases at the University "La Sapienza" of Rome. At the same time I continued my collaboration with researchers of DIBIMEF department, in the engineering of exosomes as drugs delivery, through chronic myeloid leukemia cells.
From July 2015, I am worked in In vitro analysis of the effects of focused ultrasound in cell cultures of bone cells and mesenchymal stem cells, normal and malignant, subject to focused ultrasound and ultrasound low intensity, through analysis of gene and protein expression, and analysis of cell morphology at the structural and ultra-structural level, at the IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli. I am carried out also the analysis of DNA and RNA contained in the exosomes isolated from cells of multiple myeloma and solid tumors that metastasize to the bone.
From September 2016 to December 2019, I have worked, at the IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli, in the engineering of exosomes and in its use in "in vitro" experiments, as drug delivery to osteosarcoma cells.
From December 2019 to date, I work as researcher (ricercatore sanitario a tempo determinato, "piramide della ricerca" ) for 5 years at the IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli.
