Bio
Emily B. Berndt received the B.S. degree from Millersville University, Millersville, PA, USA, in 2002 and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Saint Louis University, St. Louis, MO, USA, in 2006 and 2009, respectively, all in meteorology.
From 2011 to 2012, she was an Assistant Professor with Saint Louis University, with research interests in heavy-banded snow. In 2013, she was awarded a NASA Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Marshall Space Flight Center, Huntsville, AL, USA, with research focused on modeling and data assimilation of hyperspectral infrared sounder retrievals and the use of NASA satellite products to diagnose stratospheric intrusions and nonconvective wind events. She is currently a member of the Short-term Prediction Research and Transition team as a University of Alabama Huntsville Research Scientist, Huntsville, AL, USA.
