Elham Parhizkar is a third-year Ph.D. student at the University of Regina, Canada. She received the M.Sc. degree in computer engineering, with first-class honors, from Tarbiat Modares University in 2014. During her master studies, she worked on anomaly detection in web traffic as her master thesis which resulted in four publications. As the topic of research for her Ph.D. studies, Elham has been choosing the problem of establishing trust between agents in multi-agent systems. She began by focusing on the trust established through third-party recommendations, also referred to as indirect trust. Her main research interests are in the field of computational learning theory, machine learning (more specifically classification and outlier detection), and trust models.
