个人简介
I am a Special Faculty / Commercialization Specialist at the National Robotics Engineering Center (NREC) of the Robotics Institute, Carnegie Mellon University. Prior to joining NREC, I was a post-doctoral fellow at the Computer Science Department of Carnegie Mellon University.
I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science at the Robotics Research Group which is a part of Artificial Intelligence Laboratory in the Department of Computer Engineering of Boğaziçi University under the co-supervision of Prof. H. Levent Akın from Boğaziçi University and Prof. Manuela Veloso from Carnegie Mellon University.
My current focus is on self-driving cars, focusing on urban and offroad autonomous and semi-autonomous driving. My long term vision is to create fully and partially autonomous robots that work alone, in collaboration with humans, and with other robots, continuously learning and updating their behaviors through interacting with humans as well as the environment. My work is interdisciplinary, drawing from the methods and theory of robotics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Some of my other current research interests can be listed as machine learning, computer vision, inverse optimal control, imitation learning, robot learning from demonstration, robust high fidelity outdoor perception, efficient behavior acquisition, customization, and correction through human feedback, situational awareness, human-robot interaction, data-driven large scale accurate simulation systems for testing robot autonomy, and safe and efficient human-robot collaboration.
