个人简介
Dr. Francesc X. Sureda has been Professor of Pharmacology at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili since 1999. Since then, his teaching has been carried out in the degrees of Medicine and Surgery, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Physiotherapy and Biotechnology . Likewise, he develops postgraduate teaching in the official interuniversity master's degrees in Nutrition and Metabolism and Neurosciences. In addition, he has participated for 10 editions in the Master in Aesthetic Medicine at the University of the Balearic Islands. He has participated in numerous works and texts on Pharmacology, both for students and professionals in the sector, and has published more than 70 articles in international scientific journals. He has also participated as coordinator and scientific supervisor of the Spanish editions of prestigious works such as the Martindale Complete Pharmacotherapy Consultation Guide and Stockley Pharmacological Interactions.
In this sense, his areas of greatest specialization are in the pharmacology of the nervous system, gastrointestinal pharmacology, the respiratory system and the endocrine system.
As far as his research tasks are concerned, they have focused on the field of neuroscience, neurodegenerative diseases, senescence, carbohydrate metabolism and obesity. He has participated in projects financed by regional (Generalitat de Catalunya and Fundació la Marató), National (ISCIII, MICINN, MINECO) and European (EU) entities. Thus, it has had the opportunity to collaborate with groups from the Universities of Barcelona, Case Western University (Cleveland), Lisbon, Athens, Oviedo, Granada, Castilla-La Mancha, and research centers such as the CSIC/IDIBAPS and IRTA (La Ràpita). He has supervised five doctoral theses.
