Possessing extensive expertise in sustainable construction practices, I bring to the forefront a robust background in life cycle cost modeling and forecasting techniques. As the leader of the Transforming Building Life Cycle Research Group at the School of Engineering and the Built Environment at Birmingham City University, the largest research group with 21 members, I have focused on vital research areas such as net zero development, offsite manufacturing, life cycle costing, embodied carbon footprint, and knowledge-based engineering. My work has been published in prestigious journals within the construction management field, such as Automation in Construction, Building and Environment, Construction Management and Economics, and Journal of Construction Engineering and Construction.
My strong commitment to industry collaboration demonstrated through my contributions to numerous industrial research studies and impactful projects like the West Midlands DfMA house, showcases my ability to bridge the gap between academia and industry, a crucial aspect of the professorial role. Additionally, my success in securing funding from organizations like UKRI, EPSRC, Innovate UK, and Horizon highlights my aptitude for innovation and research development.
