Gerhard Gstraunthaler retired from the Department of Physiology and Medical Physics, Medizinische Universitat Innsbruck. Gerhard did research in Renal and Epithelial Physiology and Cell Physiology. The last projects were on human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSC) and on 'Alternatives to Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS)'.
Earlier projects were on renal proximal tubule gluconeogenesis and ammoniagenesis, and the molecular mechanisms in renal acid-base regulation and homeostasis.
