Career Trajectory
Bio
Gerhard Knoblinger (Senior Member, IEEE) received the Dipl.Ing. degree in technical physics from the Technical University of Graz, Graz, Austria, in 1996, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Bundeswehr Munich, Neubiberg, Germany, in 2001.
From 1996 to 1998, he was with the Microelectronics Design Center, Siemens AG Austria, Villach, Austria. From 1998 to 2003, he was with the Semiconductor Group, Process and Device Characterization Department, Siemens AG (now Infineon Technologies), Munich, Germany. In 2003, he joined the Analog Exploration Department, Infineon Design Center, Villach, where he worked on analog/mixed-signal circuit innovation topics and on technology-oriented circuit designs with a focus on new device concepts (FinFet). In 2011, he joined Intel Austria, Villach, where he helped to build up a new site and an analog/RF design and innovation team. In 2018, he took over the responsibility for the Analog Engineering Team, Wireless Access Network Division. He has authored or coauthored over 40 technical articles and holds several patents. His research interests are analog/mixed-signal/RF circuit design in advanced CMOS technologies and RF/noise modeling of new device architectures.
