个人简介
As a theoretical/computational neuroscientist, my fascination with the brain arises from its ability to produce complex computations using organic materials that are very different from the materials that compose man-made computers. I aim to discover what the brain can teach us about how to implement these computations. This research is not only important for elucidating the mechanisms of brain disorders, but also for the development of cutting edge technologies. My research has centered on understanding how local properties of neurons and circuits influence circuit-wide or network-wide behavior using my expertise in theory, my experience collecting experimental data using electrophysiology techniques, and my creative development of data visualizations. Over the course of my career, I’ve developed a knowledge and command of modeling frameworks that range from abstract, normative networks to biophysically realistic neuronal models.
