He was a Vice-Chair of the IFAC Technical Committee on Networked Control Systems (2005-2011); and currently is a Vice-Chair of the IFAC Technical Committee on Linear Control Systems (2017-2023). He is a Fellow of IEEE.

· Robust controller design for infinite dimensional systems; trade-offs between controller complexity and achievable performance and robustness level; delay margin optimization.
· Applications of robust control theory to problems appearing in robotics, manufacturing, aerospace systems, transportation systems, biology and process control. Some examples are given below.
