The focus of my research is studying the molecular changes that occur in glioblastoma and understanding how they contribute to its survival mechanisms: initiation, development and progression. For this purpose, I use nanobodies that can either be used as a robust molecular tool to modulate protein function or target specific cell subtypes. Nanobodies have the potential for use as natural therapeutics that can serve as biological nano-drugs able to simultaneously target the cell and aid in its destruction by affecting its key cellular processes. In the context of glioblastoma, nanobodies are particularly relevant as they can cross the blood-brain barrier. I have been studying glioblastoma for 10 years now. At the Faculty of medicine UL I have the necessary knowledge, expertise (described above) and equipment to take these studies to the next level which would be validation of the findings using in vivo models. For completing the experimental tasks I am open for national and international cooperations that can be seen from my projects and coauthorships.
