个人简介
James J. Abbas (M’85–SM’13) received the Sc.B.
degree in bioelectrical engineering from Brown University, Providence, RI, USA, in 1982, and the M.S. and Ph.D.
degrees in biomedical engineering from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH, USA, in 1989 and 1992,
respectively.
He is currently an Associate Professor and Director of the Center for Adaptive Neural Systems and the School of
Biological and Health Systems Engineering, Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ, USA. His research has been directed at
using neural engineering techniques and technologies to develop systems for people with neurological disabilities or
limb loss. He has recently worked with the World Health Organization and other organizations on projects directed at
increasing access to medical devices for people in low-resource settings.
