Karlo T. Raić is a Professor Emeritus at the Department of Metallurgical Engineering (DME), Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, University of Belgrade, Serbia (FTM-UB-Ser). He teaches the following courses: Transport Phenomena in Materials Engineering, Surface engineering, Metallic materials in medicine and Iron and Steel-selected topics. Positions: (1996-7) President of the Metallurgical Division at FTM-UB-Ser, (2002-9, 2017-2019) Head of the DME, (2009-2018) Member of the Faculty Council, (2009-2020) Editor in Chief of FTM-UB-Ser editions, (1995 -) Board and (2018 -) Vice President of AMES (Association of Metallurgical Engineers of Serbia), (2005-) Editor in Chief of AMES editions, (2003-2008), Editor in Chief, Metalurgija-Journal of Metallurgy, (2018-) Editor, Journal Metallurgical & Materials Engineering. Scholarship: DAAD Braunschweig (2001), Max-Plank-Institute for Metals Research, Stuttgart (2002), Washington State University, Pullman, USA (2003), OeAD Leoben (2009), Erasmus+, TU Košice, Slovakia (2018), Erasmus+, TU Wien, Austria (2019).
His field of expertise is Transport Phenomena in Materials Engineering with special attention on surface modification and characterization of metallic materials usable in diverse applications. His scientific bibliography consists of more than 170 units (peer review journals, national journals, international and national conference books) and more than 8 textbooks. He participates in and coordinates numerous national, as well as international projects. In addition, he acts as a thesis adviser and member of organizing committees. He is a reviewer for: International and national journals, monographs in the field of New materials and technologies, papers for international and national conferences, as well as grant applications. He has also served as the President and/or member of international and national conference committees.
