engineering from Tulane University, New Orleans, LA, USA, in 1974, the M.S. degree in power engineering from Carnegie
Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, USA, in 1976, the M.S. degree in physics from the University of Pittsburgh,
Pittsburgh, PA, USA, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology
(MIT), Cambridge, MA, USA, in 1979.
Currently, he is an independent consultant in electromechanics and electromagnetics. Until recently, he was an
Adjunct Professor with the School of Physics, University of Houston, Houston, TX, USA as well as the Georgia Health
Science University, Augusta, GA, USA.
Dr. Davey is an editor of the IEEE Transactions on Magnetics. He specializes in the interaction of electric
and magnetic fields with matter and in the numerical computation of electric and magnetic fields. He was formerly
Senior Research Scientist with the Center of Electromechanics, University of Texas at Austin, Austin, TX, USA.
