Biography
Since 2018, Dr. Kimberly Sue has been the Medical Director of the National Harm Reduction Coalition, New York, NY, which strives to improve the health and wellbeing of people who use drugs. Until 2020 she was a Clinician-Educator and Staff Attending Physician at Rikers Island, providing care for incarcerated patients, and educating students and medical residents from Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, Montefiore Medical Center, & NYU School of Medicine. Currently, she works as an instructor with the Program in Addiction Medicine (Division of General Internal Medicine) at Yale University School of Medicine. In addition, she is an Attending Physician at the Central Medical Unit, APT Foundation, which provides primary care to patients receiving methadone and other substance use treatment services. Her strong background includes a PhD in Sociocultural Anthropology, for which she has received awards such as the Rudolf Virchow Award, given by the Critical Anthropology for Global Health Caucus, a special interest group of the Society for Medical Anthropology. She also holds board certification in both Internal Medicine and Addiction Medicine.
