Construct a comprehensive picture of the physics underlying the molecular assembly process and apply principles from chemistry, physics, material, engineering, and computational sciences to direct the modulation of structures at multiple length scales for targeted properties and novel applications that address important societal needs, including
• Molecular interaction and nucleation mechanism, crystallization and self-assembly dynamics of Macromolecules.
• Molecular design and crystal interface engineering for controlling the microstructures and properties.
• Advanced experimental and computational techniques for fundamental knowledge of elusive events in the dynamics.
• Designer functionalities materials that address problems in energy, environment, healthcare, etc.
