个人简介
Liliana Moreira Teixeira graduated in Applied Biology (BSc) at the University of Minho (UMinho, Portugal) in 2005. In 2004, she performed at internship in Paediatric Immunology at Leiden Medical school (LUMC, The Netherlands). Afterwards, she obtained her MSc degree in Biomedical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP, Portugal) in 2007. Her MSc’s degree was obtained as a result of studies carried out at INEB - Instituto de Engenharia Biomédica (UPorto, Portugal), focusing on the role of the central nervous system in bone repair. After receiving her PhD in 2011 at University of Twente with Professor C. van Blitterswijk’s group (Dep. of Tissue Regeneration, The Netherlands) on biomimetic injectable 3D matrixes for cartilage and osteochondral regeneration, I continued working as a post-doctoral fellow with Professor M. Karperien’s group (Dep. of Developmental BioEngineering, The Netherlands) on hydrogels and strategies to steer stem cell differentiation. From 2012 until 2014, Liliana continued working as a post-doctoral fellow on this same field at KULeuven, with Professor F. Luyten. From beginning of 2015 until 2016, she joined the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering (Harvard Medical School, USA), as a post-doctoral fellow, with Professor D. Ingber, working on organ-on-a-chip in vitro human experimentation technology. From 2016 until 2018, Liliana worked as a senior post-doctoral fellow at MERLN Institute for Technology-Inspired Regenerative Medicine of Maastricht University (Dep. of Complex Tissue Regeneration, The Netherlands). Since 2018, she joined again the University of Twente (Dep. of Developmental BioEngineering, The Netherlands). The focal points of her current research are: 1) Development of bioengineered micro-systems – (multi-) organs-on-chip platforms; 2) Advance precision and personalized (onco-) medicine - state-of-the-art micro-devices; and, 3) Creating (micro-) building blocks for modular tissue engineering.
