个人简介
I received my PhD degree at Waseda University (Japan) on semiconductor physics especially related to wide bandgap materials and devices. In the Tokyo University of Science (Japan), I gave lectures of physics to undergraduate students during 2 years. I have been working at Toshiba R&D Center as a senior research scientist, where I conducted many in-company research projects on novel electronics devices and power electronics applications. My main scientific contribution was related to innovative devices, electrical measurements performed on diamond, wide bandgap semiconductors and nanocarbon materials, photolithography and CVD growth technique development. I have experimentally confirmed high breakdown features of diamond in recent research and achieved the highest breakdown voltage of 11.5 kV in diamond pin diodes with high quality single crystal diamond growth technique. I confirmed the large value of n-type diamond Schottky barrier height, 4.3 eV, for the first time and found strong pinning of Fermi level at metal/n-type diamond interfaces. I have revealed the influence of nitrogen concentration on thermionic electron emission and achieved the largest thermionic electron emission current from diamond by developing nanocrystalline diamond growth technique. I have also vigorously investigated doping properties in CVD growth of diamond and wide bandgap semiconductors, especially substrate misorientation effects on doping, including phosphorus doping in diamond, and device properties. These works resulted in the first commercialization of red semiconductor LD and the highest light-output-power red and green LEDs. I have more than 110 granted patents. I currently work at Seki Diamond Systems Division of Cornes Technologies Ltd. as a chief scientist. y present research target is to develop diamond growth and the systems for many applications of diamond related electronics. I'm involved in the organization of several international diamond conferences, including: (i) New Diamond and Nano Carbons (Program Committee, 2007, 2008, 2018), (ii) Symposium Organizer (Chairman), 2020 MRS Fall Meeting & Exhibit (2019), (iii) Symposium Organizer, 2019 MRS Fall Meeting & Exhibit, (iv) Symposium Organizer, 2016 MRS Spring Meeting & Exhibit, (v) Symposium Organizer, JSAP-MRS Joint Symposia (2012, 2013). In summary, I have competences from the fabrication of diamond related devices, i.e. those required for the diamond growth, following then towards those of the diamond material and devices characterisation and finishing to those of device fabrication and characterisation. I have international contacts, an extended experience in the organisation of international scientific events as well as experience in working in private and technological companies.
