Career Trajectory
Bio
Dr. Mark Green is interested in the structural performance in fire of concrete structures, applications of fibre reinforced polymers (FRPs) in structures, sustainable materials and buildings, and best practices for working with Indigenous communities on engineering projects. In particular, he has conducted extensive research over the past ten years on the fire resistance of concrete structure with FRPs. He has also examined the effects of cold regions on FRP strengthened concrete structures. He is currently researching the fire performance of buildings constructed with sustainable concrete such as ultra high performance concrete (UHPC), the effects of corrosion on the fire performance of concrete columns, and sustainable concrete containing bio-resins. He recently led a successful $1.65 million NSERC CREATE program, Sustainable Engineering in Remote Areas (SERA), which involved four universities and focussed on best practices for implementing sustainable engineering projects in partnership with Indigenous communities.
