His research is focused on the use of ultrafast spectroscopic techniques for advanced characterization of novel photovoltaic materials. Such techniques include transient absorption spectroscopy (TAS), terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS), femtosecond stimulated Raman spectroscopy (FSRS), and ultrafast photocurrent spectroscopy (UPS). Other interests include hot carriers for photovoltaics, photodetection, and photochemistry, molecular photovoltaics focusing on singlet fission and triplet-triplet annihilation for up/down conversion, and optical characterisation techniques such as photoreflectance for new materials. Much of the group's research is focused on the III-V material platform for advanced third generation photovoltaic concepts, and space and concentrator PV systems.
