MCG-UPNA is a leading European group in the research of microwave and millimeter-wave filters and passive devices for space communications. Miniaturized low-cost components for multi-satellite LEO/MEO constellations and broadband access or Earth observation, as well as high-power devices for large platforms and GEO satellites are some of the examples of our recent research outcomes. MCG-UPNA has international experience through contracts with the main European space players such as Thales Alenia Space and TESAT, as well as through joint industrial PhDs with ESA and private companies and technology transfer activities including patents. The publication record of the MCG-UPNA members also shows an intensive presence in the main international scientific conferences and journals. MCG-UPNA has access to the ISC-UPNA facilities, including world-class microwave and millimeter-wave laboratories fully equipped with VNA and spectrometers up to 1 THz, antenna measurement capabilities in far field and near field ranges, as well as a clean room for fabrication and assembly of millimeter-wave components, including all necessary photolithography equipment. MCG-UPNA is part of several international excellence networks such as the H2020 TESLA Innovative Training Network, which comprises eight of the most prominent research groups on satellite components in Europe and eleven industrial partners.
