I am fascinated by the molecular mechanisms of genome replication and repair pathways. I usually use viruses and other selfish genetic elements as a model to answer simple questions about those processes. I try to learn and apply cellular and molecular biology, biochemistry, and genetics, as well as bioinformatics. Besides, I always keep in mind two transversal perspectives, the evolutionary pathway of the mechanisms I study and the eventual applications of the obtained results in biotechnology and biomedicine.
