Research interest
I am interested in coordination chemistry for a range of biomedical applications. We develop bioactive self-assembled chiral metal complexes as potential therapeutic agents, some of which exhibit antimicrobial and/or anticancer activity. We also design transition metal complexes as Parashift MRI probes, in pursuit of gadolinium-free diagnostics and molecular probes for MRI.
I also have experience of designing metal chelators for industrial applications in lubricant oils, and designing analytical experiments for industry to characterise colloidal carbon nanomaterials for battery applications.
