个人简介
I am a graduate student in the Molecular and Environmental Toxicology Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I graduated with a bachelors of science in Genetic and Genomics with a certificate in business management from UW-Madison in 2020.
My research interests and elective classes have always involved cancer-specific biological mechanisms including physiological regulation, oncogenesis, genetic oncology and cancer metabolism. Previously, I have studied the effects of circadian disruption on oncogenic inflammation in the development of pancreatic adenocarcinomas through the Ronnekleiv-Kelly lab. I currently work in the Cryns lab as a graduate research assistant studying the effects of various stress response proteins on regulated cell death mechanisms in triple-negative breast cancer. Specifically, how post transcriptional modifications and protein-protein interactions involving phosphoinositides and the related isoforms, kinases and phosphotases stabilize the cellular stress response providing resistance to cell death.
Beyond the benchwork, I am highly involved with campus organizations and events. I am dedicated to improving the scientific community for underrepresented populations through several appointments at UW-Madison. I have served as the Equity Ambassador for my graduate program where I organized guest lecturers, presented on diverse scientists, served on the admissions committee and applied for grant funding. I have also guest lectured for the diversity module in a responsible research course and co-founded a student organization focusing on equity in the biosciences. In addition to diversity involvement, I participate in my program's student liaison committee and work as a consultant at WiSolve consulting group in Madison.
