个人简介
Omar Leon (Member, IEEE) received the B.S. degree in physics from Florida International University, Miami, FL, USA, in 2014, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in applied physics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, USA, in 2016 and 2020, respectively.
He is a Co-Investigator for the Beam-Spacecraft Plasma Interaction and Charging Experiment (B-SPICE) Sounding Rocket Mission and the Ionosphere COmposition and Velocity Explorer (ICOVEX) Mission. He also advises the University of Michigan’s Miniature Tether Electrodynamics Experiment CubeSat Mission, which launched its first satellite in 2021. His current research interests include spacecraft charging, the mitigation of charging effects using plasma sources for low-earth orbit (LEO) and magnetospheric conditions, and in situ plasma diagnostics.
Dr. Leon was a recipient of the Rackham Merit Fellowship (RMF) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Space Technology Research Fellowship (NSTRF).
