个人简介
Prita Pant received the Bachelor of Engineering degree in metallurgical engineering from Roorkee University (now IIT Roorkee), Roorkee, India, and the Ph.D. degree in materials science from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, working on dislocation dynamics simulations to understand the mechanical behavior of thin metal films. For this work, she received the Graduate Student Silver Award at the Spring 2003 Materials Research Society Symposium.
She spent a year as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, working on curvature measurement and modeling shape memory behavior of thin films. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Mumbai, India. Her research interests include microdeformation of materials, where a combination of experiments such as nanoindentation and miniature bulge test is used to deform a specific region of the sample and the corresponding changes in microstructure are observed. Other areas of interest are dislocation dynamics simulations of deformation in small structures, thermal and mechanical cycling fatigue in Ni–Ti-based shape memory alloys, and measurement of stresses in thin films.
