Metabolomics aims to quantify all metabolites within an organism, thereby providing valuable insight into the metabolism of cell. Here, We present a novel strategy for harvesting, quenching and extraction procedures for the global GC/MS analysis of microalga. Our work mainly focuses on microalgal species like Chlamydomonas reinhardtii, Dunaleilla salina and Nannochloropsis oculata. We have identified several new metabolites in microalgal species which were not reported in past.
