个人简介
My research aims to discover biocompatible, small-molecule catalysts with new-to-nature activities and to optimize biotechnologically-relevant enzymes. For both of these goals, I repurpose orthogonal translation systems as biosensors to incorporate in-situ produced non-canonical amino acids (ncAAs) into reporter proteins that provide a selectable trait. The (bio)catalysts identified and engineered via this approach should address challenges associated with the construction of cellular factories.
