个人简介
Dr. Eisenreich has more than 40years of experience in Environmental Organic Chemistry; Trans-formations, transport and fate of chemicals in water and atmosphere; Influence of climate and climate variability on regional cycling of organic contaminants; Atmospheric removal processes of organic pollutants to inland and coastal waters; chemical risk assessment, and science linkage to policy. His research was focused at the University of Minnesota and Rutgers University in the USA from 1975-2002 where he ran successful graduate research programs in environmental chemistry. At the EC's Joint Research Centre, he had responsibility of the organisation's implementation of the Water Framework Directive and the new chemicals' policy REACH, while leading research in chemical limnology and environmental organic chemistry. At VUB, he has been active in water resources management, water quality assessment, and chemical oceanography. He is focusing his activities on the influence of climate change on water resources and scarcity, and in CC impacts on organic pollutant cycles in the environment. He also assists the GW aspects in DG ENV (EC) in the area of new GW Watch Lists for emerging chemicals.
