Teresa Benko received the Associate of Applied Business degree in data processing from Lakeland Community College, Kirtland, OH, USA, in 1984, and the B.S. degree in business management, research methods, and educational outreach from The University of Toledo, Toledo, OH, USA, in 2004.
From 1985 to 1989, she was a Lead Analyst with General Electric Co., Boston, MA, USA, and S&P Solutions, Inc., Willoughby Hills, OH, USA. From 1989 to 1999, she was a Co-Entrepreneur and the Scientist with Dan McSweeney’s Whale Watching Adventures and Wild Whale Research Foundation. From 2000 to 2007, she was a Senior Research Associate and a Program Manager with the University of Toledo, Toledo, OH, USA. From 2012 to 2017, she was a Fiscal Manager and a Working Group Co-Chair with AmericaView and a Program Manager with OhioView. She has co-authored papers include “Validation of the MODIS Snow Product and Cloud Mask Using Student and NWS Cooperative Station Observations in the Lower Great Lakes Region,” Remote Sensing of Environment, 200; “SATELLITES: A Geospatial Technology Program for Teachers and Students,” The Earth Scientist, 2008. Her research interests include water quality, quantity, and utility and cetacean behavior.
Mrs. Benko is a member of Phi Kappa Phi. She was a recipient of a Commendation from the State of Ohio Legislature for the SATELLITES Program.
