个人简介
I am a qualified, proactive and motivated scientist with over 12 years of experience in plant tissue culture, micropropagation and genetic improvement. I also have extensive practical skills in agriculture, with 4 years of field work with small farmers in southern Brazil. Currently, I am particularly interested in the mutualistic relationships between plants and fungi, from ecological aspects to their biotechnological application. I am looking for work opportunities to deepen my knowledge on this and on related research subjects. I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil, and am working with third-generation sequencing platforms, more specifically with MinION (Oxford Nanopore Technologies), to study the mitochondrial and nuclear genomes of two new species of orchid mycorrhizal fungi that were described in my doctoral thesis (and their possible holobionts). I am also studying the capacity of one of these fungal species (Serendipita restingae) to form mutualistic associations with other plant species that inhabit the same environment as its orchid host, as well as with plants of agricultural importance. I have complete mastery of several analytical techniques, such as scanning and transmission electron microscopy, flow cytometry, spectrophotometry, among others. A broad knowledge of molecular biology techniques and software, especially those for phylogenetics. Solid experience in experimental design and data analysis from different statistical distributions. Excellent verbal and writing skills.
Languages: Portuguese, English, German (B2) and Spanish.
Operating systems: Windows and Linux.
Good experience with R environment packages: “APE” (distance matrix between nucleotide sequences), “spider” (grouping of molecular taxonomic units), “FactoMineR” (multivariate analysis); “Car” and “MASSA” (model analysis - GLM), “ggplot2” (graphics for data analysis); “Ggspectra” (light spectra analysis).
Molecular biology software: CLC Genomics Workbench (Qiagen), Mega-X, jMmodelTest, RAxML, MrBayes, FigTree, Protax.
Knowledge in bioinformatics: MinION software (MinKNOW), Guppy Basecaller, NanoPlot, Porechop, Filtlong, Jellyfish, GenomeScope, Canu, Flye, Medaka, Minimap2, Miniasm, Minipolish, Racon, Redbean (Wtdbg2), BUSCO, Blastn, Quast, Anaconda package management and virtual environments.
Other software: Flow software (flow cytometry data analysis), ImageJ, Photoshop, Illustrator, Leica LAS AF Lite, Microsoft Office, among others.
Web-based platforms: CIPRES Science Gateway, Galaxy, PlutoF biodiversity platform, ITSoneDB, ITS2 Database.
