Analysis of knowledge evolution in PROMETHEE: A longitudinal and dynamic perspective.

•This study integrates science mapping analysis with the global key-route main path analysis.•1351 documents covering 1982 to 2021 from WoS are analyzed.•Essential themes and their interrelationships, as well as four main thematic areas are revealed.•Overall knowledge trajectories of the PROMETHEE are presented.
