1Smart Energy Management: LSTM-based Strategies for Cost-Effective PV-wind Microgrid in Hospitals Application
    Harini Vaikund, S. G. Srivani

A microgrid refers to the modernization of the electrical network, consisting of the integration of various technologies, such as dispersed generation, dispatchable loads, communication systems, and storage devices, which operate in both grid-connected and islanded modes. They enable consumers to interact with the utility to manage their energy consumption and minimize their energy costs. However, integrating MGs raises challenges, including low inertia, system stability, power quality, and cost. To address these challenges, an intelligent energy management system (EMS)- based microgrid (MG) is developed to operate in a cost-effective manner, controlling power flow in the distribution network under both islanded and grid-connected modes. The MG system comprises distributed generation sources, such as a solar photovoltaic system, a fuel cell energy system, and the grid. Similarly, the load side was designed to simulate hospital appliances, based on the model of the test bus system. The dataset was designed based on the activation of appliances within an hour. Based on this dataset, the proposed intelligent controller was designed to regulate the energy supply. The working states of the smart energy controller were analyzed under both islanding mode and grid-connected models. The proposed intelligent energy controller provides 99

2ENTRAP-VL: A Taxonomic Probe for Dual Contextual Entrainment in Vision-Language Models
Karan Goyal, Afreen Hossain, Debojyoti Das, Vishal Bhutani

Contextual entrainment is the tendency of a model to let auxiliary context in its input pull its output, independently of whether that context is relevant, true, or even meaningful. Recently, it has been identified and given a mechanistic account in unimodal language models. Whether and how it manifests in vision-language models (VLMs) is, by contrast, largely unexamined, and the field lacks a purpose-built instrument with which to investigate it. We take the position that studying contextual entrainment in VLMs requires more than porting an existing text-only benchmark to the multimodal setting: it requires a taxonomically structured, dual-modality instrument whose conditions are constructed around the item at hand (the depicted image in the textual stream, the textual query in the visual stream). We argue that the move to VLMs is substantive rather than incremental. It makes entrainment a dual phenomenon, drivable independently by textual and by visual context, and it opens a veracity distinction (context that is false of the depicted scene yet possible in the world) that has no counterpart in the unimodal, world-knowledge-only formulation of prior work. To make this position concrete and actionable, we introduce ENTRAP-VL (ENTRainment Assessment Probe for Vision and Language), a manually curated dataset of 1,500 items across eight categories, organized by a taxonomy that spans two axes, i.e., the association of context with the item and its relationship to truth, and split into a textual-entrainment stream (eight context conditions) and a visual-entrainment stream (three context conditions). We do not claim to measure entrainment in any particular model; we provide the instrument, the taxonomy that motivates it, and the evaluation protocols it enables, so that the community can investigate the phenomenon rigorously. We will release the dataset and its documentation publicly.

3Lc3 Blends for Sustainable Strength in Concrete
Suehail Aijaz Shah, Manzoor Ahmad Tantray, Arooba Rafiq Bhat, SAJID RAFIQ BHAT

The construction industry is expanding rapidly, with cement serving as a critical binding material. However, the rising demand for cement has raised serious environmental concerns, including raw material depletion and significant CO 2 emissions, contributing to an increased carbon footprint. As a result, alternative binders have gained interest among researchers, with Limestone Calcined Clay Cement (LC3) emerging as a promising solution. This study presents a comparative evaluation of Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) and a prepared mix of LC3, focusing on mechanical performance and environmental sustainability. An experimental investigation was conducted to compare the relevant properties of both Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) and a prepared LC3 mix, aimed at evaluating their structural performance. Results indicate that LC3 achieves structural performance comparable to OPC while significantly reducing CO 2 emissions. The findings support LC3 as a viable low-carbon alternative in modern construction, offering a sustainable pathway to meet future infrastructure demands without compromising strength or performance.

4Fragility Estimates of RC Irregular Structures
    S. Pooja, L. K. Ashwini, S. Vijaya

This study investigates the structural response of geometrically irregular RC structures by carrying out pushover analysis. Five different geometrical irregular structures have been considered in the study which is assumed to be located in the different seismic zones of the country and vulnerability assessment of these structures subjected earthquake excitation is done. The outcome of the study reveals that seismic zones and geometrically irregular structures plays crucial role when earthquake strikes and hence meticulous considerations has to be given in the geometrically irregular structures.
