The Babeș-Bolyai University (Romanian: Universitatea Babeș-Bolyai pronunciation: [babeʃ boljai], Hungarian: Babeș-Bolyai Tudományegyetem, commonly known as UBB) is a public research university located in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. UBB has a long academic tradition, started by Universitas Claudiopolitana in 1581. It occupies the first position in the University Metaranking, initiated by the Romanian Ministry of Education and Research in 2016Babeș-Bolyai University is the largest Romanian university with about 50,000 students. It offers study programmes in Romanian, Hungarian, German, English, and French (as well as a smaller number of programmes at the Master's level taught in Spanish, Italian, and Japanese). The university was named, following the fusion in 1959 of the Romanian and Hungarian-language universities in Cluj, after two prominent scientists from Transylvania, the Romanian bacteriologist Victor Babeș and the Hungarian mathematician János Bolyai. It is one of the five members of the Universitaria Consortium (the group of elite Romanian universities).UBB is affiliated to the International Association of Universities, Guild of European Research-Intensive Universities, Eutopia, the Santander Group, the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie and the European University Association. Likewise, UBB signed the Magna Charta Universitatum and concluded partnerships with 210 universities in 50 countries, and it is widely considered one of the most prestigious in Eastern Europe. The Babeș-Bolyai University is classified as an advanced research and education university by the Ministry of Education.
Perfect cosmological hyperfluids generalize the concept of a perfect fluid within the framework of metric affine gravity. These hyperfluids encode the microstructure of matter including shear, dilation, and spin via the hypermomentum tensor. In this paper, we focus on the observational constraints of the recently introduced Yano-Schr & ouml;dinger hyperfluid, which sources a special type of nonmetricity, that preserves the lengths of vectors under autoparallel transport. We propose a model in which the effective nonmetricity contributions to pressure and matter density are related linearly as peff = w rho eff. This assumption allows for a straightforward parameterization of deviations from standard cosmological behavior while maintaining analytical tractability. To constrain the effective equation of state parameter w, we perform a Bayesian parameter estimation using Nested Sampling, implemented via the PyPolyChord library. We use Baryon Acoustic Oscillation measurements from the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) Data Release 2 (DR2), along with Type Ia supernova and Cosmic Chronometer data. In our analysis, we treat rd as a free parameter, enabling late-time data to extract posterior distributions for the Hubble constant (H0) and the sound horizon (rd), along with the corresponding model parameters. Our results yield H0 = 67.4 +/- 4.0 km s-1 Mpc-1 and rd = 148.8 +/- 7.4 Mpc, with w = -0.488. Finally, we use the logarithm of the Bayes factor to compare different Yano-Schr & ouml;dinger model against the Lambda CDM model. We find that the LESC model provides a better fit to the data, suggesting that modifications to metric-affine gravity could offer viable alternatives to the standard cosmological paradigm.
In this research, we investigate an underexplored topic in regional studies and economic geography linking regional strategic alliances backward to public policies and forward to industrial path development. To examine in detail the complexity of this relationship, we triangulate conceptual analysis and empirical evidence. Elected politicians cannot directly influence firm alliance behavior. However, the result of the public policies they design can be a dynamic environment, with an unexpectedly dense network of regional strategic alliances. We directly questioned experienced executives of 67 medium and large manufacturing companies operating in Romania and found that unintended public policies may explain at least 29.9
Emotion dysregulation (ED) is a hallmark of attention-deficit/ hyperactivity disorder (ADHD); however, routine retrospective evaluations neglect its dynamic nature. To address this limitation, Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA) provides a useful methodology for collecting data in real time and in participants’ natural surroundings. The current systematic review synthesizes findings from EMA studies on emotion dysregulation in ADHD. Systematic searches were conducted through April 2025 across three databases (PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science). We included 33 studies, with approximately 2678 participants. Findings demonstrate that EMA successfully captures variation in emotion dysregulation while relating it to negative affect and functional impairment, regardless of age. Compliance rates (60–99
Salvia nutans is a steppe relict species characteristic of the western Palaearctic steppe and forest-steppe zones. It is vulnerable to overgrazing and grassland conversion to arable land. As a result of these anthropogenic pressures, field observations and the available literature suggest that the species may be declining locally in Romania. Against this background, the present study aims to identify the plant associations in which the species occurs and to assess the environmental factors shaping the floristic composition of its habitats. For the vegetation analysis, a total of 870 relevés were analysed. The floristic composition data, together with the environmental variables, were included in multivariate analyses. Among the 870 relevés, most records (468) belong to plant associations within the alliance Stipion lessingianae. Annual precipitation (BIO12) emerged as the most important predictor among the environmental variables included in the model, explaining the largest share of the constrained variation. However, the overall proportion of explained variation remained low, indicating that additional unmeasured factors likely influence the floristic composition of S. nutans communities. The species occurred mainly on moderately to very steep, south- to southwest-facing slopes, at a mean elevation of approximately 359 m a.s.l. The species exhibited a unimodal response along the precipitation gradient, with maximum cover under intermediate moisture conditions. Salvia nutans was strongly associated with climatic conditions, highlighting its role as an indicator species for continental, xerophilic grasslands. Given its vulnerability to land-use changes, appropriate habitat management, including moderate grazing or mowing, and long-term monitoring are required to support its persistence and habitat stability.
In recent decades, researchers have approached the topic of new parties, often explaining how they emerge, adapt to political systems, and gain supporters. However, little research has looked at how discourses differ between new and old parties. The present paper aims to cover this gap by looking at parties’ manifestos and their discourses in relation to the European Union to establish whether there are differences in their views. The study includes the manifestos of political parties that have received over 1% of votes in the latest national elections in 12 EU countries. The qualitative content analysis focuses on 101 electoral manifestos that were published between 2019 and 2024. This paper contributes to the literature that focuses on new political parties.
