Controversies in journal publications remain in the mainstream of scientific discussions globally. Concerning the significance of avoiding controversies with publications, the article spans some of the factors that may lead to controversies and the widely discussed controversial studies in diabetes including the rosiglitazone study, the association of semaglutide with nonarteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy, the University Group Diabetes Program study, intermittent fasting and cardiovascular risk, and the association of pioglitazone with bladder cancer. The article highlights the insightful panel discussions by the diabetes experts at Jothydev’s Professional Education Forum Annual Diabetes Conference 2024.
