The latest outbreak caused by monkeypox virus (MPXV) has turned into an international public health emergency, underscoring the urgent need for rapid, large-scale, and sensitive diagnostic tests for MPXV. Here, a capacitive biosensor for detecting MPXV was developed using a laser-scribed graphene (LSG) sensor manufactured on synthetic aramid fiber. The aramid-LSG sensor was modified with monoclonal antibodies for detecting MPXV through electrochemical capacitance measurements (C mu -). The electrochemical detection was performed using a system of two interdigitated electrodes, providing excellent reproducibility and without cross-reactivity in the presence of other poxviruses and nonpoxviruses. Also, the wearable textile biosensor achieved a LOD of 7.5 x 10-1 PFU mL-1 and a LOQ of 2.4 x 100 PFU mL-1, enabling its application in plasma, saliva, and PBS samples (simulating application to human skin containing the virus). Furthermore, cytotoxicity assay studies demonstrated that the device is safe to use, according to the in vitro studies employing 3T3 cell cultures. This approach demonstrates the great potential of the wearable capacitive biosensor, which can be manufactured on a large scale using an environmentally friendly method for the wearable analysis of MPXV on patient skin.
This study evaluated ontogenic changes in food consumption and post-larval growth of pacu (Piaractus mesopotamicus) and the hybrids patinga (P. mesopotamicus x P. brachypomus) and tambacu (Colossoma macropomum x P. mesopotamicus) in a semi-intensive system with daily offer commercial feed and fertilized water to promote plankton growth. In the first week, all groups mainly consumed resting eggs of Cladocera (epiphytic), gradually diversifying their diet. Pacu primarily consumed immature bryozoans, patinga ingested Chironomidae larvae, and tambacu fed on Cladocera and Copepoda. Tambacu showed significantly greater growth in standard length and weight compared to pacu and patinga (p < .01); however, further studies on zootechnical and environmental aspects are needed. This is the first study to investigate the feeding of post-larvae of round fish and their hybrids. The results indicate a preference for natural foods, highlighting the need for future research to develop feeding protocols with a greater share of natural foods.
No research has been conducted in the Pagat tourist area which has various types of ornamental plants that can be processed as teaching materials in the form of popular scientific books based on local potential to train high school students' critical thinking skills. The purpose of this study was to describe the effectiveness of popular scientific books. The research method uses formative evaluation based on Tessmer's design which consists of self-evaluation, expert validation (3 lecturers), individual test (3 students), small group test (5 students) and field test (10 students). The results of the research on the effectiveness of the BIP as a result of the development found that the criteria were very good for use by high school students because they had been fulfilled, which meant that the BIP was easy to use. This is supported by the positive response from students towards learning using the developed BIP. Students' critical thinking skills are included in the medium category with an average N-Gain of 0.5 so that they can be implemented in learning. In conclusion, the development of BIP development results is effectively used in an effort to train students' critical thinking skills.
