Cosumnes River College is a public community college in Sacramento, California. It opened in 1970, taking its name from the Cosumnes River which flows just a few miles to the south. As of Spring 2017, enrollment was at 13,091 students at its main and satellite campus in Elk Grove, California. Folsom Lake College, a former satellite campus, attained independence in 2004.
Vladimirov defined an operator on balls in ℚ_p , the p-adic numbers, analogous to the Laplace operator in the real setting. Kochubei later gave a probabilistic interpretation of this operator. The Vladimirov–Kochubei operator generates a real-time diffusion process in the ring of p-adic integers, a Brownian motion in ℤ_p . The current work proves that this process is a limit of discrete-time random walks. It motivates the construction of the Vladimirov–Kochubei operator, provides further intuition about ultrametric diffusion, and gives an example of the weak convergence of stochastic processes in a profinite group.
ABSTRACT Professional higher education associations offer knowledge, support, and networking for professionals. This chapter examines five national affinity groups, highlighting their efforts to enhance Native and Indigenous student success. We discuss their challenges, opportunities, contributions, and future aspirations for supporting the profession and strengthening community across higher education.
ABSTRACT Indigenous Student Affairs (ISA) has grown from community‐driven advocacy into a vital support space within higher education. This article, written in a narrative style and grounded in a conversation among four ISA educators, traces the history and literature of ISA, highlights practitioners’ lived experiences across diverse institutional contexts, and identifies implications and future directions for sustaining ISA units, professionals, and communities.
