The gendered conception of a ‘mother’ nation is a recurring trope in nationalist literature that constructs the woman's body as a bearer of nationalist cultural values and its idealised citizen, while nationalism itself becomes a masculine ideal. The paper examines how slam poets like Rafeef Ziadah, Emitithal Mahmoud, and Muna Abdulahi vocalise their diasporic experience and reinvigorate memories of a diminishing motherland. Through a few select works of these writers, this paper intends to trace the contemporary re-formulations of the ‘mother-ised’ land amidst intergenerational and transnational refugee women forced to flee from their homes due to genocidal violence. The paper hopes to show how the conflation of the body of the nation with the body of the woman goes beyond implications of patriarchal control to draw out a matrilineal heritage of blood and bonds to a homeland quickly disappearing under genocidal threats. In such cases, the woman's body also bears witness to the violence imposed on the land/body. Moreover, the paper also analyses the diasporic experience and identity formulation of the daughters of refugees, and how it is often built on links to the motherland, formulated almost entirely on nostalgic cultural impressions and traditions relayed through maternal bonds. Burkitt’s lymphoma, a highly aggressive form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, presents significant diagnostic and therapeutic challenges, especially in the pediatric population. This case report describes the clinical management of a pediatric patient who presented with an obstructive mass in the oropharynx. Diagnostic efforts included a computed tomography (CT) scan of the neck to assess the extent of the disease, and concurrent surgical interventions, a tracheotomy and biopsy of the mass, performed to secure the airway and confirm the diagnosis. The patient’s management was further complicated by the urgent need for airway management, necessitating the simultaneous performance of tracheotomy and biopsy while awaiting histopathological results. Upon confirmation of Burkitt’s lymphoma, chemotherapy was initiated immediately. This case highlights the critical importance of swift and coordinated multidisciplinary approaches in managing potentially life-threatening conditions in pediatric oncology.
Cet article propose une analyse théorique de la transition progressive des entreprises vers des modèles économiques durables, en réponse à l’évolution des attentes sociétales et aux défis environnementaux contemporains. À travers l’étude du concept de consom’acteur, de la montée de la Responsabilité Sociétale des Entreprises (RSE) et de l’adoption de normes internationales telles que ISO 14001, ISO 9001 et Global GAP, cette recherche met en lumière le rôle central du consommateur engagé et des standards environnementaux dans la transformation des pratiques organisationnelles. L’analyse souligne que la durabilité n’est plus un élément périphérique, mais un pilier stratégique fondamental permettant aux entreprises de renforcer leur compétitivité, leur légitimité sociétale et leur résilience face aux crises environnementales et économiques. Ce travail contribue ainsi à la compréhension du passage d’un modèle économique traditionnel à une approche orientée vers la création de valeur responsable et durable.
