This replication study draws on data provided by a snowball sample of 264 Catholic priests serving in Italy to test the construct validity of the operationalisation of the balanced affect conceptualisation of good work-related psychological wellbeing among clergy proposed by the Francis Burnout Inventory Revised. According to this conceptualisation, the detrimental effects of negative affect, as assessed by the Scale of Emotional Exhaustion in Ministry (SEEM), are mitigated by positive affect, as assessed by the Satisfaction in Ministry Scale (SIMS). These replication data confirmed that there was a significant interaction between the effects of SEEM and SIMS scores on scores recorded on the Purpose in Life Scale (PILS), demonstrating that the mitigating effects of satisfaction in ministry on purpose in life scores increased with increasing levels of emotional exhaustion.
The aim of this study was to examine and compare the school climate in vocational high schools in the City of Zagreb and vocational high schools in the rest of Croatia during the implementation of security measures. The study involved students from six high schools across Croatia, located in the cities of Zagreb, Rijeka, Zadar, Varaždin, and Opatija. A total of 642 students participated in the study, of which 171 were female and 471 were male students. The Croatian School Climate Questionnaire for Students (1) was used as a measure of school climate. An independent samples t-test was used in order to analyze the data. The results indicated that, on average, the students observed a moderately positive school climate (M=51.4, SD=12.23). A statistically significant difference in school climate was found between the schools in Zagreb and those outside of Zagreb (t=3.013, df=137.974, p=.003). A more negative school climate was present in the schools in Zagreb (M=47.93, SD=12.88) compared to the other schools (M=52.06, SD=12). Although the results indicate a more negative school climate in vocational schools in Zagreb, a larger number of schools should be involved and the possible causes for these findings should be further investigated.
The Jubilee Year bulls offer a distinctive lens through which to observe the life of the Church in particular historical contexts, illuminating urgent concerns as well as the pastoral and spiritual practices promoted during these periods. Notably, they also place considerable emphasis on both personal and social ethics. This paper examines the Jubilee Year bulls from 1825 to 2025, exploring recurring moral concerns, tracing the development of key themes, and analysing the guidance they provide regarding individual conduct and political responsibility. The study highlights moral commitment as a defining aspect of the Jubilee experience.
Abstract Stigmatization of people has persisted throughout history. It is manifested by bias, distrust, stereotyping, fear, embarrassment, anger, and/or avoidance. Stigma leads to avoiding living, socializing and working, renting to, or employing a certain group of people. The psychological impact of stigma can be significant. Students who are stigmatized because of body shape and weight tend to experience heightened anxiety, depression, and diminished self-worth because of the negative societal attitudes they encounter. This study investigated the relationship between stigmatization and body image dissatisfaction among ESUT undergraduates. Material and methods One hundred and eighty-five (185) undergraduate students participated in this study: 72 males and 113 females, between the ages of 19 and 26 years; with a mean of 22.31 and a standard deviation of 2.91. Results The findings of the study include the following: body image dissatisfaction was positively significantly related to gender, and stigmatization; and negatively significantly related to age. Conclusions Gender and age significantly predicted body image dissatisfaction. Stigmatization is a significant positive predictor of body image dissatisfaction among undergraduates.
