Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute (SIPI) is a public tribal land-grant community college in unincorporated Bernalillo County, New Mexico, with an Albuquerque postal address. It is federally operated by the Bureau of Indian Affairs and funded through the Bureau of Indian Education, both agencies within the United States Department of the Interior. More than 120 different Indian Tribes are represented in SIPI's student body.
This book is an excellent advanced reference for engineers working on highspeed digital design and signal integrity. It combines rigorous theory with a strong practical focus and uses clear visual explanations to connect electromagnetic concepts to the real challenges of multigigabit systems.
On July 16, 1979, the largest by volume radioactive spill in US history took place in Kinłitsosinil (Church Rock) in Diné Bikéyah (Navajo Nation) in northwestern New Mexico. This was both a mining disaster and nuclear disaster that happened when an earthen dam collapsed at the United Nuclear Corporation's uranium mill tailings pond, releasing 94 million gallons of radioactive, toxic, and acidic slurry into the Puerco River Basin. Despite the acute disaster of the spill, a disaster declaration was never issued by any jurisdiction affected by the mine and mill releases, and there were no comprehensive disaster investigations or environmental health impact studies. This article addresses these patterns of "organized ignorance" that obscure geographies of environmental racism and injustice. These forms of ignorance cover up and downplay the uneven distribution and effects of the by-products from manufacturing the nuclear weapons arsenal and producing commercial nuclear energy. The downstream communities from the Church Rock mill spill were almost entirely Diné (Navajo) pastoralists who relied on the Puerco River as a source of water to sustain their lives, livestock, and livelihoods. Environmental health studies have demonstrated that proximity to mine waste is a significant exposure variable, which is ignored by the current environmental cleanup regime. When faced with such forms of ignorance that cannot possibly grasp the realities of local communities affected by uranium mining, they respond by remembering, restorying, and restoring the land through their own particular visions of restorative justice.
The constant evolution and scaling-up of applications like AI have been putting an ever-increasing demand for higher speed and performance on semiconductor chips. Consequently, power consumption by semiconductor chips has been on the rise in the recent past. FPGAs, GPUs and AI processors can easily consume thousands of watts of power. Proper power delivery is critical for the operation of these power-hungry chips. Inadequate power delivery can limit the functionality and performance of the chips, result in heating, lower lifetime of the chips and more. As a result, Power Integrity (PI) of chips and systems has emerged as a very important topic in industry. Considering the power delivery network (PDN) of chips and systems in detail is essential starting from the planning and architecture definition stages. The evaluation of PDN should continue through the development and deployment phases as well. Several CAD solutions exist for the modelling and simulation of power delivery into chips and systems. Simulations have to be complemented with actual silicon data-collection and analysis in order to produce optimal results. Not many hardware solutions are readily available for this purpose. This paper describes the architecture, implementation, details of operation, programming aspects and usage model of a customized silicon chip that will be used as a Power Integrity evaluation tool. The chip forms the heart of the PI evaluation system. The usage of the evaluation system in developing a Power Delivery Network model is covered. This chip has a simple implementation and is easy to program and use - yet has substantial PI evaluation capabilities. This evaluation system has a variety of applications including: Power Delivery Network (PDN) study Validation of PDN simulation models On-chip andon-package decoupling capacitance evaluation Micro-bump, C4-bump and BGA plan evaluation This highly configurable chip has the ability to do automated on-chip measurements through a test-friendly interface (simple, low pin-count & flexible) and has been tested on a simple and inexpensive test-platform. A large number of use-case scenarios were programmed, data was collected and analyzed from this evaluation system. Simulations were done using PDN models and correlated to above mentioned measurement data. It is concluded that this evaluation system is a valuable tool in the Power Integrity study of systems with semiconductor chip packages along with board (PCB).
Contemporary literature course has been extensively designed in various contexts and from various perspectives, including histories, policies, curricula, and practices. However, educational technology has been affected in recent years (e.g., e-learning particularly, contemporary literature teaching and learning dimension). The study aimed to investigate Thai and American perspectives on implementing the instructional design in the Contemporary Literature course regarding content and teaching styles, and potential improvements in teaching and learning skills. The participants were two teachers from two institutes in Thailand and the United States of America who had experience in teaching literature for decades. A semi-structured interview was utilized to gather information about the participants’ views. Each interview lasted approximately 30 minutes. All interviews were audio recorded and later transcribed for analysis. Data were analyzed using a thematic coding method to find significant statements related to the research questions. The findings regarding content and teaching styles indicated that the American participant thought she put the focus on the technological aspect of educating students about the values of physical activity with connection to the indigenous authors’ lifestyles and lifelong learning to promote the learners’ dreams and enjoyment (i.e. self-awareness with global skills). The Thai participant emphasized encouraging the learners to develop good attitudes to become critical readers (i.e., 21st_ century skills). However, peer teaching, cooperative learning, direct instruction, demonstration, and feedback, personal responsibility were highlighted as implemented standards provided by the participants from both countries. Overarching learning goals of contemporary literature course are to initiate and encapsulate the key messages into the framework with transformative competencies; reviews the nature of the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values that young learners will need; and ends with possible curriculum design principles.
This community service program aims to support food availability in the Mahu Administrative Country. Food security is the availability of food and one's ability to access it. A household is said to have food security if the occupants are not in a state of hunger or are haunted by the threat of hunger. The main objective of naming vegetables is to get food products by using the previous plant resources. The method used in this service is to plant vegetables directly on the land next to the village office. The choice of this program is because it is a collaboration with the state government's program to support domestic food availability. Based on this, this program is dedicated to food security by planting vegetables. The dedication of this program has the involvement of the AMGPM Randing Mahu community. From the results of the dedication carried out, it is hoped that this program can be carried out continuously so that the community is able to manage their own garden
