Sugiyama Jogakuen University (椙山女学園大学, Sugiyama jogakuen daigaku) is a private women's college in Hoshigaoka in Chikusa-ku, Nagoya, Japan, with a subsidiary campus in the city of Nisshin. The predecessor of the school was founded in 1905 as a sewing school, and it was chartered as a university in 1949.Locally, it is famous as one of the "SSK" schools of Nagoya: Aichi Shukutoku University, Kinjo Gakuin University, and this university. It is close to Hoshigaoka Station on the municipal subway's Higashiyama Line..
In this article, we prove the stability with respect to the Hausdorff metric dH of the cut locus Cut(p, g) of a point pin a compact Riemannian manifold (M, g) under C2 perturbation of the metric. Specifically, given a sequence of metrics gion M, converging to g in the C2 topology, and a sequence of points pi in M, converging top, we show that limidH (Cut(pi, gi), Cut(p, g)) = 0. Along the way, we also prove the continuous dependence of the cut time map on the metric. (c) 2025 Elsevier Inc. This study aimed to clarify changes in sprint ability and spatiotemporal variables with maturation in children and to identify key determinants from anthropometric and muscle strength perspectives. Ninety-eight young soccer players aged 7.6-17.9 years underwent a 30-m sprint test, anthropometric measurements, muscle thickness (MT) and maximal voluntary contraction (MVC). Maturity offset (MO) was calculated as the difference between the chronological age and estimated age at peak height velocity (PHV). Breakpoint (BP) in maximal sprint speed (MSS) development was identified at +1.1 years of MO, and the participants were classified into pre- and post-BP groups. A significant correlation was found between MSS and MO in the pre-BP group, but was no longer observed in the post-BP group. Although step length (SL) was positively correlated with MO in the pre-BP group, this correlation was not observed and step frequency (SF) showed a positive correlation in the post-BP group. Multiple regression analysis revealed that in the pre-BP group, leg length (LL) was the only significant predictor of MSS, primarily by influencing SL. By contrast, in the post-BP group, MVC and MT emerged as significant predictors of MSS, mainly by influencing SF. In conclusion, this study identified a key developmental BP at +1.1 years of MO and demonstrated a shift in the determinants of sprinting ability from reliance on anthropometric growth before this point to a dominance of neuromuscular factors.
The effectiveness of problem-solving using a Multi-agent System (MAS) depends on the design of cooperative strategies, but this design is difficult. The difficulty arises because the performance of cooperative strategies strongly depends on environmental characteristics. This study focusses on the RoboCupRescue Simulation, a disaster rescue simulation based on a multi-agent approach. To establish a map-adaptive strategy design method, we clarify how specific map characteristics affect individual rescue activities. We introduce new map and agent activity metrics, and analyze their relationship with cooperative strategy performance using LASSO regression and SHAP values. The results reveal that characteristics such as building density, D-value, and bridge ratios affect debris cleaning and movement efficiency. These findings clarify environmental dependency and provide a crucial foundation for designing map-adaptive strategies.
This study evaluates the long-term performance of a friction-based connector that uses wooden dowels to apply prestress parallel to the grain. This method mitigates the substantial force loss anticipated when applying prestressing force to wood. The primary objective is to develop a simplified experimental method for determining creep parameters required for analytical models evaluating long-term performance of the connectors and to verify its validity. Creep parameters for White Oak (WO), Konara Oak (KO), Japanese Beech (JB), and Japanese Cedar (JC) were derived from prestressing force losses measured in time-dependent tests on bolted wood specimens under constant and cyclic humidity conditions. Parameter validity was confirmed by applying them to the analytical model and comparing predictions with results from long-term (1-6 years) time-dependent tests in an uncontrolled environment. The analytical results aligned with the experimental data, accurately capturing overall trends and inelastic fluctuations. Finally, the validated parameters were used to predict the 50-year performance of the friction-based connector. The analysis predicted that connectors using WO and KO dowels would retain approximately 70% of their initial prestress while those with JB would retain approximately 50%.
The complexity of current social and environmental issues has led to many conflicts in corporations and organizations. Corporate sustainability compels managers to strike a balance between sustainable development and corporate profitability. Arguing against the limitations of existing cause-related marketing (CRM) approaches, this study proposes a new method to address this complexity through a case study of a Japanese company “andu amet”, a leather goods brand. The company has developed a comprehensive socially friendly supply chain from sourcing raw materials to sewing in Ethiopia. “andu amet” developed a business model that balances social value with economic rationality, emphasizing the inherent value of products. This study sheds light on the requirements and practical capabilities of a business model that enable both sustainable development and corporate profitability.
