With the increasing complexity of industrial processes, there is a growing demand for integrated quality control solutions. Quality control in industrial processes is continually sought after, and the tools applied for this purpose have long been known and adopted by managers. This study arose from the need to overcome the limitations of individual quality control tools, such as Statistical Process Control, the PDCA cycle, the Ishikawa Diagram, and the 5W2H method, which, although effective in their specific functions, do not provide a comprehensive approach to effectively managing continuous industrial processes. The objective of this study was to integrate these tools into a methodology that systematically monitors, diagnoses, and corrects failures efficiently. The methodology was applied to a case study in the sugar manufacturing industry, specifically in the liming process, demonstrating its effectiveness in stabilizing the process and improving the final product quality. Control charts showed that the process was out of control, with a capability of 1.02, below the acceptable limit of 1.33. After implementing the proposed corrective actions, the process stabilized, and the capability increased to 1.45, with a significant reduction in process variability. The integration of these tools enhanced each one’s problem-solving potential, demonstrating effectiveness in continuous improvement and the management of continuous industrial processes. This methodology not only proved effective in the presented case study but also shows potential for adaptation in other industrial sectors such as pharmaceuticals, food, and manufacturing, especially in the context of Industry 4.0, where integration with real-time monitoring technologies and artificial intelligence could further optimize quality control and process efficiency.
Radiology professionals play an essential role in diagnostic imaging services; however, they perform their activities under working conditions characterized by high technical complexity, intense care demands, and exposure to multiple occupational factors. Although studies have investigated specific aspects of this work, knowledge regarding Quality of Work Life (QWL) remains fragmented in the literature. This study aimed to analyze how the scientific literature portrays the factors affecting the QWL of radiology professionals. This is a narrative literature review based on searches conducted in the PubMed, Virtual Health Library (VHL), and Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) databases, covering publications from 2021 to 2026. The evidence indicates that QWL is multidimensional and is influenced primarily by work organization. Key associated factors include work intensification, high care demands, insufficient breaks, limited professional recognition, and weaknesses in socioprofessional relationships, which are associated with increased occupational stress, burnout, reduced job satisfaction, intention to leave the profession, and compromised quality of care. It is concluded that interventions targeting work organization and professional recognition are fundamental strategies for promoting QWL and strengthening the sustainability of radiology services.
The consolidation of inclusive education in Brazil requires the continuous professional development of teachers working in Specialized Educational Services (SES) to eliminate barriers to learning and participation. In this context, distance education has emerged as a promising strategy for continuing professional development. This study aims to analyze Distance Education (DE) as a strategy for the continuing education of teachers working in Specialized Educational Services. The research adopts a qualitative bibliographic approach, based on the analysis of Brazilian academic publications on Specialized Educational Services and Distance Education published over the last ten years. The findings indicate that DE democratizes access to professional qualification by providing temporal and spatial flexibility. However, the quality of teacher education depends on pedagogical approaches that emphasize instructional mediation, collaboration among peers, and critical reflection on professional practice. Collaborative continuing education is essential for transforming pedagogical strategies and strengthening the professional identity of specialized teachers. It is concluded that continuing professional development is a central pillar for the effective implementation of the National Policy on Special Education from the Perspective of Inclusive Education, and that Distance Education constitutes a powerful strategy for improving professional practice in Specialized Educational Services, provided that it is grounded in theoretical and pedagogical frameworks that effectively integrate theory and practice.
