W artykule poruszono zagadnienie standaryzacji słownictwa religijnego języka migowego w czasie Konferencji Unifikacyjnej w 1991 roku. Zbadano, czy przyjęty wówczas standard jest używany we współczesnych tłumaczeniach wydarzeń religijnych. W tym celu przeanalizowano materiały wideo zawierające tłumaczenia w środowisku kościelnym z lat 2020–2024, a następnie zestawiono je z hasłami słownika wydanego po Konferencji Unifikacyjnej. Badanie wykazało istotną rolę wspomnianej standaryzacji w kształtowaniu leksyki języka migowego.
This article analyses Malina by Ingeborg Bachmann, focusing on its structure, themes, reception and translation into Polish. The author discusses the challenges faced by translator Sławomir Błaut, emphasising his fidelity to the original, linguistic precision and ability to convey Bachmann’s poetic and fragmentary style. The text indicates that the difficult language, literary innovation and cultural differences influenced the niche reception of the novel in Poland, despite its high artistic and research value.
Activities that promote both learner’s autonomy and collaboration, foster in-depth understanding, provide inspiration and develop creative thinking seem to be an essential part of today’s educational landscape. This paper analyses a workshop task designed on the basis of a theoretical model of the causes of conflicts, used in the academic Constructive Conflict Resolution course. The exercise involves creating outputs that combine visual and linguistic elements, illustrating the subject matter literally and figuratively, which then is used as the trigger for the in-class discussion aiming at indepth understanding of the various aspects of the topic. Moore’s wheel of conflict was applied as the knowledge component of the in-class activity which may be situated within a broader theoretical discourse on the role of image, language, and metaphors in conflict resolution education. The pedagogical potential of transcending traditional frameworks to foster autonomy, collaboration, and critical thinking were explored by examining how visual and linguistic elements can reframe learners’ engagement and thus effectiveness of the learning process.
Uczniowie szkół ogólnodostępnych mieli z kolei bardziej sprecyzowane oczekiwania i lepszą orientację w aspektach związanych z poszukiwaniem pracy, pisaniem CV oraz instytucjami wspierającymi aktywność zawodową. Na tej podstawie sformułowano wniosek, że uczniowie szkół ogólnodostępnych byli nieco lepiej przygotowani do samodzielnego życia zawodowego niż ich rówieśnicy z MOW.
The article addresses the relationship between language, literary translation, and visualization generated by artificial intelligence. The analysis focuses on selected fragments of works by Pavel Bazhov and Fyodor Dostoevsky, examined in the original Russian as well as in Polish and English translations. The study consisted of two stages: (1) a comparative analysis of translations in terms of semantics, style, and cultural aspects, and (2) a survey experiment with 220 Polish-speaking respondents who evaluated AI-generated illustrations based on three language variants of the same fragments. The results show that even subtle translational shifts influence how artificial intelligence interprets and visualizes literary texts. Moreover, respondents preferred illustrations generated from Polish prompts (52.5% of choices), which supports the hypothesis of “imagining in one’s own language” and confirms the concept of the linguistic worldview. This effect proved statistically significant and relatively stable regardless of participants’ age. The article demonstrates that combining traditional methods of translation studies with new AI tools opens new perspectives for interdisciplinary research on the role of language in shaping literary and visual imagination.
