Although UNVA was not well known within the United States, it called itself the most popular American university for students from India.UNVA has received government scrutiny and media coverage for its academic and immigration practices. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents raided UNVA offices and informed school officials on July 28, 2011, that the government was ending UNVA's authorization to admit foreign students. Kapil Sibal, a minister in India's current cabinet, compared UNVA to a "sham university," stating UNVA does not have acceptable accreditation. Although media sources in India speculated that UNVA would close permanently in 2011, the university remained open and moved to South Dakota in 2013 when the Commonwealth of Virginia revoked its license to operate in that state. On October 1, 2013, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement ended UNVA's authorization to admit foreign students. In October 2013, UNVA announced its move to Sioux Falls, South Dakota. At its new location, UNVA is facing scrutiny as well. UNVA is investigated by the South Dakota Attorney General's office, and its office suite sits empty. As of March 6, 2014, UNVA has removed the references to their new location in South Dakota from their website.S.S.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement ended UNVA's authorization to admit foreign students.
One of the fundamental points of Williams and Lally (2017) was to highlight the problems of test publishers determining the standards for psychology. Ben-Porath's (2017) response bypassed this primary concern. In addition, Ben-Porath (2017) presented several purported "corrections" of "errors." Our response challenges Ben-Porath's claims and redirects the focus to concerns with allowing test publishers and their marketing practices to define our field's standards. Newly released 2016 sales data demonstrates that the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI)-2 continues to be more widely used than the MMPI-2-RF (61%: 39%), despite years of marketing the MMPI-2-RF as the "new standard," the introduction of new MMPI-2-RF products, and the discontinuation of MMPI-2 products.
E-commerce is the technology of conducting commercial transactions via electronic media. The Internet has provided this media to the extent that commerce is being increasingly made through it. However, another side of commerce, which included the (heavy lifting) of physical goods are still traversing the distribution channels and employing the traditional transportation infrastructure with varying efficiency and cost. This paper examines the employment and adoption of this technology within the Middle East businesses, and what are the barriers that hinder this adoption. The famous Technology Acceptance Model, TAM is implemented with some variations to identify the difficulties associated with implementing e-business models through a survey of key stakeholders in this industry, namely procurement professional and logistics managers. One hundred forty five participants filled the survey questionnaire aimed at measuring their responses to perceived usefulness (PU), perceived ease of use (PEOU), attitudes towards usage (ATU) and behavioral intention to use (BIU) the e-business system The results shows that the main factors holding the propagation of e-commerce in these countries, and in spite of growing interests and belief in implementing e-commerce, are related to the inertia of the legacy operating systems, the lack of compatible infrastructure, the security of information, and the level of business ethics. A conceptual mathematical probability model is developed to estimate a new TAM as an MTAM where the acceptance is computed as an average probability of six interaction factors. Several conclusions were arrived at including the need for the development and installation of a legal framework for safeguarding against abuse and illegal schemes of defrauding consumers.
Due to the high sensitivity of RFID tag-reader performance to the operating environment, RFID data streams generated are unreliable and contain a significant amount of missed readings. RFID data cleaning is therefore an essential task for successful deployment of RFID systems. One of the common techniques used by RFID middleware systems to compensate for the missed readings is the use of sliding-window filters. However, setting an optimum window size is non-trivial task especially in mobile tag environments. In this paper we present a new adaptive data cleaning scheme called WSTD based on some of the concepts proposed in SMURF but with an improved transition detection mechanism. WSTD uses the comparison of the two window subrange observations or estimated tag counts to detect when transitions occur within a window. In the mobile environment, our experimental results show that the WSTD scheme performs better than SMURF producing an improvement of about 30% less overall errors than that produced by SMURF.
With the rapid growth wireless communication technologies, the number of mobile applications have been developing. One of them is approached for mobile learning area since it is unique in its own way and offers learning opportunities anywhere and anytime. Mobile collaborative learning (MCL) is a small group learning application based on mobile devices. MCL is a new exciting research area in which students can earn knowledge about a topic and concept via communicating with others by a mobile device. This paper introduces describes the theoretical and technical foundations for designing and developing an effective MCL environment. Also, the paper describes a new approach for building the MCL application towards mobile technology. The prototype will be constructed using Android operating system with suggesting necessary infrastructure and middleware. Finally, the paper include the result of a usability test to find valuable hidden facilitating issues to efficiently access and obtain the class contents in collaborative learning environment.
