Tight competition for coffee houses in Indonesia Bandung, where there is a coffee shop whose development has experienced positive internal problems and several coffee shops that close outlets in the city of Bandung. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the City of Bandung local coffee houses' position in the organisational life cycle. The method of determining the life cycle of an organisation is one model that can be applied in relation to the analysis of organisational situations. This study involved as many as 86 respondents from 397 existing populations. Small and medium-sized coffee shops require a clear and structured organisational system, which can be achieved by creating a formal organisational structure. Coffee shops also need a clear and structured organisation system through the creation of a formal organisational structure and combat complacency by the government with initiatives that can be developed by employees and develop products that are supported, improving human resource management in terms of expertise, ability, and knowledge.
Combining Lean and Industry 4.0 into a single integrated approach, known as Lean 4.0, can avoid the contradictions, costs of implication, and the time for the iterative integration of each concept practices. However, the manner and the impact of the integration of Lean 4.0 from the design phase of production systems remain unclear. The ultimate objective of our work is to present designers with a new framework for enhancing system performance right from the early design phase. This is achieved by integrating Lean thinking tools and Industry 4.0 technologies into the design phase of production systems. This paper conducts a comprehensive literature review focused on this integration. This paper brings as well empirical evidence, through a questionnaire survey, of the positive influence of integrating Lean 4.0 tools from the design phase on five design dimensions. The results show that integrating Lean 4.0 improves the design dimensions: efficiency, reactivity, and intelligence.
This paper presents a study of requirements management practices on rail transport projects, focusing on the planning and acquisition stages. Linear rail networks are comprised of connected cyber-physical systems. As the transport sector embraces digital twinning in support of more strategic approaches to asset lifecycle management, requirements management functions must also handle a complex of asset information requirements. High levels of integration in complex project environments present significant challenges for requirements management. Using literature and interview surveys, challenges to requirements management practices are investigated. Findings highlight deficiencies in enterprise-wide requirements management methods and tools, with challenges compounded by deficiencies in consistent requirements modelling, common data models, and interoperable toolchains to support continuous, integrated model-based requirements management workflows. Findings identify opportunities to integrate systems and digital engineering functions through alignment of data and processes, and increase systems engineering expertise to improve requirements traceability and change management across system review activities.
Complex products exhibit traits such as variety, a long-lifecycle, a difficult-to-verify design, strong target orientation, dynamic nature, a complex operational environment and state. Current product lifecycle management (PLM) systems place a greater emphasis on new product development and innovation. PLM is considered a combination of managerial, technological, and collaborative approaches, that aid in managing each phase of the product. The Indian defence industry, which is still in its infancy, has started manufacturing various complex defence systems as a result of its changing national policy. Some of these systems are in the mature phase, while others will shortly be in this phase. Complex systems have distinct challenges throughout their lifecycle. Using expert interviews and the DEMATEL technique, this study investigates critical aspects required for the prolonged mature phase of complex products. The study will help businesses and industries that use complex products with long usage lives.
